Islam Liberates, Muslims Oppress - What's that suppose to mean?
There are a lot of misconceptions about Islam these days because of the actions of Muslims who follow their man made cultures instead of Islam. After reading a Blog I just had to have my say and clear up a few things. Please take the time to read it. Firstly, Islam liberates women, many Muslim men and man made cultures from Muslim lands oppress women, NOT ISLAM!!! Most cultures of Muslim lands are patriarchal and oppressive not only to the women but to all. NOT ISLAM!!! They have strayed far from their Islamic beginnings and Islamic teachings. If the Muslim Ummah (people)get back to the basics of Islam, get back to the correct Sunna (teachings of Prophet Muhammad), they will rise up and be respected instead of being in the sorry state they are today. It is so obvious, especially to convert Muslims (who have no previous Muslim culture) that the cultural Muslims have left the correct teachings of Islam, that is why we are in such a disgraceful state today. Are we to expect Allah, our Creator, to reward us with victory and honor when we don't follow his way? Allah said in the Qur'an 3:110 'You are the best of people raised up for mankind, to enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong and remember Allah'. Now a days, the best of mankind are not many, because most don't follow the way set out for us in the Quran and Sunna of Muhammad, peace be upon him. We as an Ummah, do not deserve to be an example to the rest of mankind when many of the non Muslims act in a better way than a lot of us. Don't blame beautiful ISLAM, it is perfect, as Allah said to all of mankind, in the Qur'an 5:3, 'This day I have perfected your deen (way of life) for you, completed my favour upon you and given you Al Islam as your Deen'. Blame Muslims, they are at fault for not taking care, and losing the beautiful gift of Islam. Islam liberated me as a woman much more than I was before. My husband does not oppress me, he is kind, thoughtful and loving. Any woman who's husband oppresses her has the duty to speak out against it, not accept it, and if he doesn't stop, she must leave him. Allah said in Hadith Qudsi 17, 'O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another.' We must stand up for our rights that our Creator has given us, not just us, as in women, but us as in humankind, then we will see positive changes take place. More from the Hadith- Qudsi 17
O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as pious as the most pious heart of any one man of you, that would not increase My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of any one man of you, that would not decrease My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to rise up in one place and make a request of Me, and were I to give everyone what he requested, that would not decrease what I have, any more than a needle decreases the sea if put into it.
