Cleaning Tip - Natural Descaler
I recently moved to a new apartment. Airy, spacious and lots of light, but of course a few things needed cleaning. One of them being the bathroom. I'm currently living in Cairo, Egypt where most of the apartments have ceramic tiled floors. Believe me, you need them here, it gets so hot in the summer. The bathroom, tiled in a pink marble design is small but cute. Unfortunately, the builders didn't use or know how to use a level because the floor is not! The floor slopes, can you believe it, away from the drain! The previous tenants did not take care of the apartment and obviously did not wipe up the water when it drained to the wall instead of in the drain, because the entire floor along edge of one of the walls had lime scale deposits on it. I went to the local supermarket looking for a descaler but they didn't have any, so went to another and another and to no avail I couldn't locate any descaler. I thought to myself, don't they need to descale anything here? The next thing I did was look on the Internet for a natural descaler and found one immediately, vinegar. Good old vinegar! I immediately went to my kitchen cupboard, took out my bottle of vinegar and poured it over the lime scale deposits, then left it over night as instructed. The next day, I happily wiped off the descaled lime deposits with a scouring pad, and any tough sections scraped with a scraper to help loosen them. Success! I was so happy and proceeded to buy some more vinegar to finish the job on a few patches elsewhere on the bathroom floor. I think it is safe to say that whatever we need, we can get it from nature. God has provided us with natural solutions for everything. Natures cleaners are the best, and most safe for the environment. |
